Friday Stories: Story Starter

Editor's Note: Max began his blog in tears today because he said he had no words in his head today. When I replied that his head was full of words, he said, "They're in a traffic jam." The sentence below is a story starter to break up that terrible traffic jam.

Today we went shopping and Mom bought me a pair of magic shoes ...

We went to Stride Rite and they said, "Would you like to get a pair of new Magical Power Shoes? They cost twenty dollars and it has pockets and it has little tablets that come with it and you just get it wet in a glass of water and it pops right out and turns into a Game Boy. Also, if you put another tablet in, if you write on in what kind of a Game Boy game you want on the tablet, it will get what Game Boy game you want out of the separate tablet."

"And it also comes with a pack of a thousand tablets and each shoe has one pocket on each side and each one can hold twenty-five of the tablets."

So Mommy says "yes" to getting the shoes and we take them home and we realize that they had jet packs built in the shoes. You also put a tablet in the grass and it would turn into a whole stand of lemonade and each glass of lemonade is only fifty cents.

All of that started when I put on the brand-new shoes. I also figured out that I could be invisible and I could just say the name of the toy and it would be right in front of me in the the box, brand-new, never been used. When I put the shoes on, the very moment, I had super powers. I could fly, I could travel back in time, I could travel from inside to outside without breaking anything or using the door, and I could also make something else invisible ... only invisible for other people, but not me! Like if Mom said I couldn't watch TV, I could make the TV show black for Mom, but it was really on for me. ("I could really get you, couldn't I?" said Max.)

We got them for a really, really, really, really low price !!! You can take off your shoes and then a little pocket appears on each side with a zipper. You can put money or little toys in there.

When you put them on, you can shift into different people!

Friday Stories: Garage Sale Shopping

Note: Friday Stories are creative writing exercises we enjoy each Friday as part of our homeschool curriculum. Stories are composed by the boys and typed by Mom.

We went to a garage sale today in our neighborhood. I got this cool spy set, that it has three motion detectors. It has a little antenna on it. I also have three little dots on the package that they light up whenever somebody walks past it and it goes, "Doot, doot, doot, doot ... doot, doot!" like an alarm, and then I know if somebody passed it and then I could see what they are doing. The spy set cost twenty-five cents.

I also got a Polly Pocket car with Polly Pocket accessories. We also got a fake plastic jewel. I got a red one and Mitchell got a blue one. I also got a mini Palm Pilot for free. Mitchell also got a Palm Pilot for free. And Mitchell also got a mini spy set too, because it's not a very big one.

I am going to earn my spy set by doing errands. Doing errands means my mom gives me something and I put it away.

We went up to the park after we went to the garage sales. I went down the slide four times. I went down the parallel bars two times. And I also ran. And our friend William rode up to the park with his tractor. We got there ten minutes before William did. I rode my bike up to the park also and I rode my bike to all the garage sales. We felt some sprinkles and went home. Thirty minutes later, it started to pour.
